On May 7, a protest camp of groups in solidarity with Palestine at the FU got evicted by the police. Over the last few days, we have held numerous discussions to reconstruct what exactly happened on that day and what we think the consequences should be.
This morning, the theater courtyard in the Rost- and Silberlaube at the FU was occupied by activists in solidarity with palestine. As far as we know, the university ordered a police eviction within a very short time without giving any notice. A massive police force then evicted those involved in the occupation, also using physical violence. Outside students and observers also experienced police violence in front of and inside the university buildings.
Am 6. März jährte sich zum 34. Mal der Todestag von Mahmud Azhar, der an den Folgen eines rassistischen Angriffs auf ihn am 07.01.1990 auf dem Campus der Freien Universität (FU) verstarb. Anlässlich des Todestages haben wir am heutigen Standort des Instituts für Biochemie (Hahn-Meitner-Bau, Thielallee 63) eine Gedenkveranstaltung organisiert, um an den pakistanischen Promotionsstudenten und wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter der FU zu erinnern.

Am 06.03.2024 jährt sich der 34. Todestag von Mahmud Azhar, der in Folge eines rassistischen Angriffs auf ihn am 07.01.1990 auf dem Campus der Freien Universität (FU) verstarb. Am kommenden Mittwoch wollen wir Mahmud Azhar gedenken. Dazu laden wir euch herzlich um 14 Uhr zum heutigen Hauptsitz des Biochemieinstituts in die Thielallee 63, Dahlem ein.

Wir Studierende müssen ein Zeichen setzen gegen Antisemitismus auf dem Campus.
Am Freitagabend wurde ein jüdischer FU Student Opfer eines unfassbar brutalen und antisemitischen Angriffs, vermutlich durch einen anderen Kommilitonen der FU. Der betroffene Student liegt derzeit schwer verletzt im Krankenhaus und musste operiert werden, schwebt aber zum Glück nicht in Lebensgefahr. Unter anderem wurden mehrere Brüche im Schädelbereich festgestellt.
Zuallererst wollen wir dem betroffenen Kommilitonen unsere Solidarität aussprechen und ihm schnelle und gute Genesung wünschen!
It has now been almost two months since the Deutschlandsemesterticket was approved by the federal and state governments. The first contracts have been submitted to the student bodies, and for some of them the Germany Semester Ticket is already a done deal. Nevertheless, the Berlin student bodies are not entirely happy with the new ticket, as it still causes too many problems in some areas.
